Potato 'Markies' (Early Maincrop) - 20 potato tubers

Potato 'Markies' (Early Maincrop) - 20 potato tubers

We introduced Potato Markies in 2007 due to its vigorous, upright habit, excellent late blight resistance, high yields and quality, tasty tubers. We are pleased to have secured this top performing early maincrop variety again for the 2016 season. It performed so well in our recent Capel Manor College growing trials and taste tests, we just had to bring it back. Our taste testers rated it best of the bunch for chipping and baking, commending the fluffy texture, crispy skins and golden crunch when chipped. Potato Markies produces long oval tubers with pale yellow flesh and skin. A floury cooking texture and a high dry matter content results in less oil absorption when fried. The flesh has a low sugar content and a very low acrylamide content, making it a healthy potato option. Growers of this easy grow potato report full resistance to golden eelworm. Height:60cm (24"). Spread 60cm (24").
